We will also message you a night or two before arrival to make sure there are no changes.
Please expect about 1 hour for walkthrough at the time of pick-up.
We will have all paperwork printed and welcome any and all questions.
We will confirm drop off date and time a day or two before your scheduled return.
And of course, we are flexible with pick up and drop off if you give us notice.
Driving a camper van is pretty easy. After a few miles in the seat, you'll be a pro. The main things to remember are:
1) the van is tall
2) the van is heavy
Always be aware of the height, and allow for extra braking distance.
Visibility is limited more than a normal passenger vehicle. Double check the mirrors.
We have provided pretty much everything you need for your trip, but we recommend the following:
*personal hygiene items
*food
*drinks
*phone chargers and accessories
*adventure gear (or ask us about renting ours)
Try not to pack more than you need, storage does eventually run out!
Do Wear Seat Belts
We—and all the other stuff inside the van—are just projectiles in motion after all!
Don’t Use Drive-Thru's or Garages
Van dimensions may not fit the space, such as under drive-thru awnings. Check the clearance first…better yet, just park, stretch your van legs, and go inside to order.
Do Keep A Half Tank of Gas
Top up the fuel tank at halfway and especially whenever you know are going remote. Use GasBuddy to help you plan.
Do Check Your Water Stores
Estimate using 1 gallon of water per person per day, and double it if you plan to engage in physical activity.
Don’t Drive Off-Road
Although the vans are well equipped, they are limited to 2WD adventures. Dirt roads are expected, but please steer clear of trails and mud. Getting stuck isn't fun.
Don’t Smoke In the Vans
Please keep the smoking of any type outside…and consider where your campfire might be blowing too…are the doors closed?
*Turn off outside LP gas switch
*Power off the generator
*Latch the fridge
*Stow the bed
*Shut all doors, windows, drawers, and cabinets
*Stow all loose items and clear the countertops
The best part about traveling in a van is the ability to park almost anywhere! Use apps like iOverlander to seek out ideal spots to park overnight if you aren't planning on staying at an actual campsite. Choose safe locations and don't park illegally. Tickets will be your responsibility.
We highly recommend you take advantage of our favorite overland cooking system, the skottle! This grill is included with your rental. Use the link below to explore some awesome recipes and cooking pro tips.
Just remember, only use wood or plastic utensils, scrape off the cooking surface when you are done, and add a thin coat of vegetable oil before you pack it up!
